Award in Presentation Skills

MQF/EQF Level 5 (1 ECTS Credit) Face-to-face Intake Opening Soon, 15:30 - 17:00

The comprehensive training programme aims to unlock the tips to impactful presentations that leave a lasting impression.

Programme Description

This training programme aims to help trainees conquer the fear of public speaking and captivate the participants’ audience with compelling presentations. This course will equip the participants with the skills to transform nervousness into excitement and engage their audience.

In this course, we acknowledge that while many individuals have experience with presentations, not all presentations are compelling enough to drive audiences into action. To address this gap, we focus on developing the design skills and knowledge to create high-quality, visually appealing presentations that effectively convey information.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Recite proven techniques to conquer stage fright and build confidence in public speaking situations.
  • Draw on both verbal and nonverbal communication techniques to captivate listeners and maintain their attention throughout the presentation.
  • Identify the message relative to a delivery style to enhance the impact and credibility of presentations.
  • Recall the diverse preferences and needs of different audience types, and tailor their presentations accordingly to establish strong connections.
  • Define how to establish a rapport with clients through effective presentation techniques, fostering long-term relationships and trust.
  • Draw up presentations that are visually appealing and easy to follow, while also effectively communicating the information being presented.

The Award in Presentation Skills is ideal for:

  • Individuals who are involved in selling
  • Individuals employed in sales and marketing
  • People wanting to improve their confidence in public speaking or hone existing skills
  • Individuals seeking to enter employment that comprises an element of presenting to different audiences

The course will be delivered using a blend of approaches to ensure a unique learning and development model that enables the learner to learn the general framework of the subject and then apply what is learnt to real life cases.

Assessment

A summative assessment procedure will be used and this will be applied at the end of the module when the students would have covered all the material covering all learning outcomes.

At the end of the course, the trainees will be asked to create a 10-minute presentation and deliver it to the group. A 1-hour group session will be held during which all students will be requested to present a 10-minute presentation. They will be graded in accordance with the following criteria:

  • Their confidence when speaking in front of an audience
  • The verbal and nonverbal communication techniques used to engage and connect with the audience
  • The flow of the presentation and its adaptability to the different learning styles.
  • The skills used to build rapport with the participants
  • The effective use of visual design principles
  •  The overall professional presence and credibility of the presentation.

Assessment marks will be sent to students individually, by email.

In the event of a failure in the presentation, the student will be given the opportunity to sit for a resit.

The weighting which will be applied in the case of the presentation assessment is 20% on attendance and 80% on the presentation created and delivered – pass mark 50%. A student must obtain a pass mark in both components to be awarded the certification.

Testimonials

EMCS Academy comes highly recommended for the team’s outstanding guidance in creating a programme that catered for the needs of our employees. As a start, prior to the drawing up of the training programme, various meetings were set up with the management team, with the aim of understanding the training needs of the Company as well as those of the employees. The courses delivered did, not only contain the normal theory one needs to know, but a lot of practical examples. This helped the staff remain focused and attentive on the subject being discussed.
