Award in Time Management Foundations

This course prepares students to be more productive overall. Consequently, upon completion of this course, individuals will be provided with the necessary skills to improve their productivity at the place of work, irrespective of the industry or position they are in.

The overall objective of this training programme is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and competences to increase their productivity within any business setting, in any position they currently hold.

While giving due importance to the work environment, the programme also focuses on all aspects of the human’s wellbeing and thus instigates participants to focus also on ‘life outside of work’ and to shift their mindset to give due consideration to the ‘whole’ for a more balanced life (work-life balance).

Who is eligible to participate?

  • Individuals who are overwhelmed and don’t feel like they have enough time in the day.
  • Individuals who are unsure of how they can be more productive or wonder what other strategies might be out there.
  • Someone who feels they are not in control of their life.
  • A person who is unhappy with their life and is ready to take charge.
  • People who feel overwhelmed with their to-do lists.
  • Those who feel like they are always busy but aren’t progressing.
  • Anyone who wants to get more done and anyone who wants to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life!

 

On successful completion of this program, participants will:

  • Practice the critical application of time management tools in their day-to-day life and in so doing increase their productivity, their focus on what truly matters to them (both in and out of work) and in so doing live a more fulfilling life.

Assessment

A summative assessment procedure will be used and this will be applied at the end of the module when the students would have covered all the material covering all learning outcomes.

At the end of the course the trainees will be asked to complete a Multiple Choice Exam.

Assessment marks will be sent to students individually, by email.

Where possible and applicable, if revision of paper is necessary, then the assessment will be reviewed by a supplementary marker. In the event of a failure in the multiple-choice exam, the student will be given the opportunity to sit for a resit. In the case of a resit, the multiple-choice exam will be different to the first one, which the student would have failed.

Final grade will be calculated as follows:
20% on attendance
80% on the replies provided in the multiple-choice exam

A student must obtain a pass mark in both components to be awarded the certification.

This course is made up of a total of 25 hours. These are divided in 8 contact hours, an estimate of 16 self-study hours and an hour of assessment.

The course will be delivered in English.

  • Good working knowledge of the English language
  • Basic level of digital competence is required (use of Microsoft Word / Powerpoint)

Student CV will be requested to verify the above that incorporates their self-assessment of such entry requirements. A request for copies of certification and references will be made, if necessary.

 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will have developed a detailed knowledge and understanding of, and acquired the necessary skills to:

  • Define what is important in their life and how to find time for such goal/s
  • Identify when and how to say ‘no’
  • Identify the main distractions/ obstacles in their lives
  • Find how to overcome procrastination
  • Identify small daily changes that will lead to better productivity
  • Implement small daily changes that lead to better productivity and do not cost money

Mr. Ramon Muscat is currently a Director at EMCS Advisory Limited.

Focusing on the EMCS Academy, Ramon’s purpose is to maximise individuals’ true potential through coaching and training.

He is actively involved in the provision of training in non-technical skills for both the public and private sector (such as time management, planning and work-life balance, motivating self and others, the great customer experience, and dealing with difficult customers (to mention a few). Furthermore, Ramon coaches individuals in top-tier positions.

Apart from his Masters in Business Administration Ramon attained a certificate in Managing People from the College of Management and IT and an ILM Level 5 – Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

Francesca Camenzuli

Francesca Camenzuli forms part of the EMCS advisory team. She graduated from the University of Malta with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and is currently reading for an MSc in Organisation Psychology at the University of London, Birkbeck College.
